A story of dramatic transition - in many ways

Meeting
About a year ago, a mother came to a Renton PFLAG Support meeting. Her
daughter had told her that she was in the process of transitioning to identify as male. The mother was having a really
hard time understanding and coming to terms with this dramatic change and she put together a series of emails between mother
and son.... to help him understand her feelings, and perhaps others going through the same journey. I have shared
this (with permission) at our information tables with those who are interested.
Today I received this updated "Things I Know - A Year Later." I am sharing
with you in case you are or know of someone who is working through this same kind of transition. It shows what a difference
time can make in one's level of acceptance and understanding to reach a comfortable place. I think it's a wonderful
illumination of how the process can work when families love each other and have some patience with each other - no matter
the differences.
